On Sunday September 12th we celebrated 125 years of sharing the good news of our risen Lord and Savior.
Saturday
night prior, we had over 200 parishioners and friends for a great BBQ
and music supplied by "Ray of Hope" from Lutheran Church of Hope. On
Sunday morning Pastor Melz preached to 200 souls, and Pastor Justin
Laughridge from San Diego, CA gave the inspiring sermon. After the
service we all gathered outside to enjoy a wonderful meal catered by
Warren Brott. A DVD of historical pictures from past years of the church
played for all to see.
Pastor Laughridge gave the afternoon service to 125 and all in attendance were invited for cookies and fellowship afterwards.
Next door to our church is the Trinity German Lutheran Cemetery of Madison County. A website has been created as part of the Iowa Gravestone photo project that documents those buried there.
